Ayurveda considers that neurological disorders are caused due to imbalance of Vata in body.

Its type of headache only but characterized by recurrent attacks of headaches. These headaches may vary from moderate to severe. Typically, the headaches affect one half of the head, are pulsating in nature, and last from two to 72 hours. Associated symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light, sound, or smell.
Some people experience a specific warning ‘aura’ or signs such as weakness in one side of the body, flashing lights, numbness and blind spot in one eye. An aura can mimic the symptoms of stroke and can be extremely frightening, especially for people who never had an aura before.
The treatment for migraine headaches are completely dependent upon the type of medicine prescribed to prevent the attacks and triggers, how frequently they occur, how long they last and pain relief. It’s always advisable to use a natural remedy for headaches over allopathic drugs.
Treating by Ayurveda :-
Apart from routine diet recommendations there are therapies in the Ayurveda which help curing this stress :-
Parkinson’s disease symptoms include muscle rigidity, tremors, and changes in speech and gait. It develops because of aggravation of Vata Dosha in the nerves in the brain. Aggravated Vata Dosha can dry up the nerves with adverse affects. According to western medical views, the loss of dopamine – the nerve transmitter – is one of the main causes of the disease.
Usually Allopathy has hardly effective treatments they just cure the symptoms.
- Tremors or shaking of Hands or fingers.
- But once the patient starts to do something, the tremors will stop.
- Patient feels stiffness or rigidity present in muscles.
- When walking, patient cannot turn at once
Decoctions to balance of Vata Dosha is given; later the decoctions should have nutritious or rejuvenating value.The decoctions contain masha (Undu) – Phaselolusradiatus, Babila – Sidacordifolia etc.
Following treatments are also given depending on the patient’s condition.
- ShiroAbhyangam – Head Massage
- Shareera Abhyanga (special head and body oil application)
- Shirodhara (Special flow of oil on 3rd eye)
- Shiro Vasthi (Keeping oil over the head with the help of special cap)
- Nasyam (drops inhaled through the nose)
Depends on the severity and complications of the disease. If in early stages, disease can be retarded, and symptoms can be controlled.
Minimum period of treatment in order to see improvements should be more than four weeks.
Sleep apnea means disturbed sleep, It is serius sleep disorder. If there is loud snoring and feel tired after full night’s sleep it indicates, you have sleep apnea.
According to Ayurveda it can be due to Vata and Kapha imbalance.

Shiro means “head,” and dhara means “dripping oil , The name comes from the Sanskrit words shiro (head) and dhara (flow). Shirodhara is based on the principle of invigorating the mind and bringing oneness in the body.
Shirodhara is a Ayurveda therapy that involves gently pouring liquids over the forehead or third eye and is considered as one of the best Panchakarma procedure.
Continuous pouring of decoction oil over the forehead (the ‘third eye’) and allowing it to flow over the scalp, using a special instrument dhara-yantra.
Shirodhara usually typically takes 40 minutes, but best results can be achieved achieved by first doing Snehana or Abhyangam, ie slow application of herbal oil to the body. This soothes the body and mind, preparing you to receive the healing.The head will be coated in oil during this treatment.
Shirodhara helps to calm the nervous system. In this procedure special oil that has qualities to balance the mind and body. Shirodhara oils contain herbs such as ashwagandha, brahmi/gotu kola, and bhringaraj. Shirodhara Oil is a nice blend of these herbs and also includes shatavari and skullcap. The type of oil tos be used depends upon the Tridosha to be balanced. Treatment is quite useful for mental stress, anxiety, eye diseases, greying of hair, neurological disorders, memory loss, insomnia.
To get the best results from therapy, please avoid using mobile phone for watching texts/video etc for half hour. And it’s best to keep the head covered for a half hour with the old towel or cloth etc . If you can wait, wash your hair the next day.
Shirolepam (Thalam) is a treatment process in which herbal paste is applied over the scalp, and retain for 45 minutes. It is a simple, effective in neurological and psychic disorders, insomina and certain types of skin disorders, premature greying and hair-falling.

The meaning of Shiro – head and the meaning of Vasti – container. Shirovasti is a procedure in which oil is held in the container over the head for specific time period.
