Arthritis

Pain is any physical suffering or discomfort usually caused by injury or sometimes illness. Even milder pain in the body, puts us in a big discomfort and affects our day to day activities.

Many of us have natural tendency to take pain killers but they only suppress the pain not cure. Ayurveda plays an important role in eradicating the pain.

In Ayurveda the pain can be described due to  Vata dosha, once vata dosha is treated the pain subsides automatically.

Degenerative Arthritis

When the cartilage – the slick, cushioning surface on the ends of bones – wears away, bone rubs against bone, causing pain, swelling and stiffness. Its most commonly observed.

Inflammatory Arthritis

The healthy immune system of our body, generates internal inflammation to get rid of infection and prevent disease. But this immune system can go awry and by  mistake attack the joints with uncontrolled inflammation, potentially causing joint erosion and may damage internal organs, eyes and other parts of the body. Rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis are examples of inflammatory arthritis.

Metabolic Arthritis

Uric acid is formed as the body breaks down purines, a substance found in human cells and in many foods. Some people have high levels of uric acid because they naturally produce more than is needed or the body can’t get rid of the uric acid quickly enough. In some people the uric acid builds up and forms needle-like crystals in the joint, resulting in sudden spikes of extreme joint pain, or a gout attack. Gout can come and go in episodes or, if uric acid levels aren’t reduced, it can become chronic, causing ongoing pain and disability.

Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis ‘s the “wear and tear” that happens when your joints are overused.  Initially It usually happen with growing age (Esp 50+) or sometimes due to Joint injuries.

But In modern lifestyle it starts in younger age also from various other reasons like:-

  • Due to absence of Ghee in diet (Oil Free Diet)
  • Excessive Running
  • Overuse of Treadmill
  • Obesity
  • Vitamin D Deficiency / Lack of Sunlight

These factors put extra stress on the joints. As a result, our body’s shock absorbers/Cartilage/Greasing of Joints, the slippery material that covers the ends of bones, gradually breaks down or degenerates.
